Also called 2-2-3. A 14-day cycle of 12-hour shifts: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off. Four crews cover 24/7, and you get every other weekend off in full.
A 28-day cycle of 12-hour shifts: 4 nights, 3 off, 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights, 3 off, 4 days, then 7 consecutive days off. The full week off is what people either love or hate about it.
A 28-day cycle of 8-hour shifts: 7 days, 2 off, 7 swings, 2 off, 7 nights, 3 off. Common in refineries and continuous-process plants.
The first day your crew works at the beginning of the rotation. If you're not sure, pick any day you know you were on shift and adjust until the calendar matches a month you remember.
